Operation Christmas Child
We are so grateful for all you have done in previous years to provide shoeboxes of gifts to children at Christmas. A simple shoebox packed with love and fuelled by prayer can have a huge impact in demonstrating God's love in a tangible way to children in need around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, in sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.
You can see the impact in this year’s Operation Christmas Child Film
This year, there are 2
different ways we can send shoebox gifts:
You can pack a shoebox online. To find out more
about packing a shoebox online have a look at the Samaritan’s Purse website.
Traditional packing: Despite the current circumstances you can collect a flatpack shoebox from the Vicarage, assemble the box, fill it (see Operation Christmas Child’s suggestions) and return it to the Vicarage by Remembrance Sunday and we will take them to a nearby reduced handling, socially distant drop-off location.
What to pack
If you are packing a
shoebox, please do not
- used or damaged items;
- war-related items such as toy guns; seeds;
- chocolate or food items;
- lotions or liquids including bubbles;
- playing cards;
- religious or political literature;
- sharp or fragile items;
- books with mainly words.
Items packed from this list will be removed from shoeboxes.
